Senior Quality Engineering Specialist – Canada (EPDA)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with functional managers to develop and implement cell based systems which ensure long term satisfaction of customers, employees and shareholders
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Drive root cause resolution of Customer, Supplier, and QOS systems issues
  • Lead and coach the Quality Technicians in order to allow all systems to fully satisfy the quality requirements of the customer and be compliant with Quality and Environmental Standards
  • Work closely with supplier QE’s, to approve PPAPs and monitor on-going performance metrics and Corrective Actions
  • Responsible for establishing operator reaction plans
  • Work closely with customer SQE’s to ensure product quality requirements are understood and maintained throughout the supply chain
  • Responsible for cell specific Control Plan, gage instructions, operator instructions, SPC systems, inspection records, First-Off, etc.
  • Responsible for final approval of PPAP submissions prior to customer submission
  • Manage Quality alerts including closure and ensure log is maintained
  • Work in compliance with Stackpole EP Quality Systems
  • Work in compliance with Stackpole EP Safety Systems
  • Work in compliance with Stackpole EP Environmental Systems
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An undergraduate degree in Engineering or Applied Science or appropriate combination of related education and experience
  • Experience in manufacturing and automotive quality requirements including Quality and Environmental Standards
  • Experience in modern quality techniques such as Error Proofing, Designed Experiments, Statistical Control, FMEA, and all automotive quality requirements including PPAP, PSO, Problem Resolution, etc.
  • Excellent communications, negotiation, conflict management and problem solving skills
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
