Job Description:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the development, coordination and management of resources in the Quality Assurance Department to support manufacturing and to enable Stackpole International to achieve a competitive advantage for product quality.


  • Develop statistical techniques within PMDM and ensure adherence to Process Control Systems (internal audit process)
  • Develop and standardize metrology practices within PMDM
  • Manage Corrective Action Report responses, ensure PMDM deadlines are met and maintain CCR Log System and records
  • Act as Customer Liaison with plants including regular Plant Visits to maintain good communication and visibility of activities with Customers
  • Establish/Maintain system for organizing Corrective Action Evidence and Record Keeping
  • Establish/Maintain standard for Problem Solving Team activities, and act as a resource (Master Problem Solver)/facilitator as required (as issues escalate or major issues are encountered)
  • Monitor, Analyze, and Report on Customer Quality Metrics (PPM, DM, CCR, etc.)
  • Coordinate annual layout process, analyze and report results for problem resolution
  • Develop/maintain testing procedures within Lab Scope
  • Maintain instructions/manuals/TPM documents for testing protocol and maintenance of equipment
  • Arrange and ensure adequate staffing of labs at all times to support production and engineering study requirements
  • Manage and staff all inspection activities as required
  • Responsible for managing all SPS Quality Auditors and ensures the audit of all systems and processes at Stackpole.
  • Responsible for managing all SPS Quality Inspectors ensuring that dock audits on all finished goods are performed before shipping.
  • TS16949 Management Responsibility, including coordinating internal and external activities, audits, managing procedural review processes and facilitating internal Corrective Action Process for violations.
  • Work in compliance with Stackpole PMDM Quality and HS&E Policies and Procedures, Including TS16949 and ISO 14001.
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of the QS/TS (Automotive Quality System)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Practical experience with the principals of lean manufacturing is an asset
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing is desired
