Shift: Rotating 8 Hour Shift (Days/Afternoons/Nights)

Job Description:

The Operations Technician is responsible for troubleshooting automation equipment including various robotic and CNC machines and the maintenance of ISO/TS 16949 systems with respect to fixture and tool maintenance and process inputs auditing.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely completion of preventive and predictive tool and fixture check sheets
  • Accurate and timely completion of process input audit check lists for coolant, filtration, deburr and wash systems
  • Audits and monitoring of machine set ups and tool changes
  • Provide assistance to the supervisor, quality, engineer, systems technician, and production operators in the resolution of set up or process control problems. Recording of such process events in the machine logs
  • Training operators on the proper safety, quality, and production procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot and teach automation equipment
  • Work in compliance with Safety, Quality Environmental and Production systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A technical degree/diploma in engineering technology or technologist program is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the operations and set up of high volume CNC machining applications in a manufacturing environment, including CNC Machinist or CNC setup, is an asset
  • Certification in automotive systems and quality requirements based on ISO/TS 16949 Operating Systems, is an asset
  • Good organizational skills, be a self-starter, be able to work both independently and on a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively will all levels of the organization
