Manufacturing Press Set-Up Technician – Canada (PMDM)

Location:2430 Royal Windsor Drive

Reports To:Production Supervisor
Shift:Shift #1 – Days, Shift # 3 – Nights

Job Description:

Responsible for working as part of the Manufacturing Value Stream to produce quality parts at a low cost and on time to the customer. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently perform compacting quality checks and minor press adjustments.


  • Operational problem solving and seeking out continuous improvements to the process
  • Complete process sheets required for the compacting operation
  • Assist in the training and development of new members of the SPS Area Participating in SPS Area team meetings
  • Able to perform all Quality Assurance checks
  • Perform all duties related to densities
  • Capable of changing upper punches in required presses(exception dual upper)
  • Able to perform adjustments for weight and lengths
  • Limited adjustment on controls (grippers etc.)
  • Able to maintain weight scales in continuous operation
  • Assist setter with set up changeovers from part to part
  • Changing dies sets
  • Able to set up die sets
  • Completion of process sheets, IPIR charts, TPM sheets, 1st offs Production Analysis sheets etc.
  • Accurate shift to shift communication
  • Work in compliance with Stackpole PMDM Quality and HS&E Policies and Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Team player with the ability to work with others in a team based environment;
  • Must have a proven mechanical aptitude and knowledge, be able to read and interpret blue prints and all measuring instruments and possess exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects up to fifty pounds
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with setters, tool room, and supervisory staff.
