Human Resources Administrator – Canada (EPDA)

The Human Resources Administrator provides daily support to people within the Stackpole employment lifecycle (recruitment, employed, terminated, and retired) with resources related to employment policies, benefits and compensation, training and development, and employee relations. The HRA reports to the Human Resources Manager.


The purpose of this role within Stackpole is to assist in supporting the facility staff through administration of Human Resources Related documentation and payroll\time and attendance processes. Support for staffing the facility to required levels for direct labour and support staff, ensuring payroll accuracy, monitoring training and development requirements to ensure legal minimum requirements and operational required training are met and aiding in employee relations activities to maintain a positive work culture. The position is also responsible for the ongoing support, implementation and maintenance of the human resources and related Stackpole EP Safety, Quality and Environmental systems, and the timely and accurate maintenance\development of the payroll\time and attendance systems.
The scope of the role includes:

  • Interaction with employees at all levels of the organization. Active engagement with employees in the work area\factory.
  • Ensure privacy and respect of employee information is maintained.
  • Payroll\time and attendance management.
  • Recruitment and onboarding.
  • Administration of Training documentation.
  • Pension and Benefits administration.
  • Short Term and Long Term Disability claims management\administration.
  • Employee relations activities and initiatives.
  • Provide information and feedback to temporary staffing agencies, recruiters, government agencies and benefits providers.
  • Internal/external relationships
  • Scheduling meetings and ordering food as necessary


  • Payroll, time and attendance, and benefit administration
  • Tracking, documenting, delivering and facilitating training initiatives for the facility.
  • Support of Recruitment activities: job postings, resume reviews, interviewing, candidate selection, offer preparation.
  • New hire orientations coordination.
  • Routine and ad hoc reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records in IDT and Ceridian INSYNC databases
  • Process all vacation for hourly employees including record keeping and reporting.
  • Schedule and conduct orientations for new employees, explaining policies and procedures, and company benefits.
  • Responsible for all benefit administration, maintaining benefits database, updating new information, answer employee inquiries regarding benefits and claims.
  • Provide administrative support for a broad range of Human Resources activities as required by HR Manager/Senior Leadership
  • Employee relations interaction and event planning.
  • Employee interaction, coaching and support.
  • Scheduling HR or Communications related meetings, interviews etc. for members of the management team.
  • Continuous follow-up to ensure outstanding documentation is being processed.
  • Maintaining employee files, training records and health\confidential information.
  • Ordering food and supplies as necessary
  • Open issues monitoring.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by the HR Manager or Senior leadership.


  • Required to be a graduate of a post diploma program in Human Resources Management, or degree with HR Management option and be working towards or possess their CHRP designation
  • 1 to 2 years’ work experience in Human Resources
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
  • Previous payroll experience would be considered an asset
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability in problem solving, and responsiveness to customer needs
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Able to complete multiple tasks concurrently


  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelors of Science (BA, BS
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) in progress or achieved.


  • Constant keyboard and occasional phone use.
  • Occasional walking.
  • Much of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area.
  • There is a frequent need to give close attention to various stimuli such as written material and information given verbally to co-workers.
  • The work is varied.
  • There are deadline pressures, while at the same time there is a demand for thoroughness and accuracy
