As a member of the Corporate Finance team, the Financial Reporting Manager reports to the Corporate Finance Manager and assumes responsibility for financial reporting to local management, the parent company, and external stakeholders. The Financial Reporting Manager will work closely with the Corporate Reporting Analyst to ensure the accounting for Corporate ledgers are completed accurately and reviewed in a timely manner.

What you can expect in this role:

As the Financial Reporting Manager, you will be primarily responsible for coordinating and consolidating international accounts and ledgers across our company, in a global multi-currency environment. Working with our finance team, you’ll review and audit monthly and year-end financial statements to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies/regulations. This will include journal entries, balance sheets, and government grants.

Practically speaking, you will:

  • Be responsible for the monthly coordination and consolidation of Stackpole’s financial statements, in a global multi-currency environment with a 3-day close
  • Review monthly financial statements and account reconciliations
  • Ensure annual financial statements are accurate and completed in a timely manner for several subsidiaries (8 sets of financial statements). Responsibilities range from reviewing financial statements to full preparation of the financial statements.
  • Be a key team member in developing budgets and forecasts for corporate departments
  • Assist with global treasury management
  • Be involved in transitioning Stackpole’s financial systems to Cognos/TM1
  • Provide recommendations for automation and optimization of Stackpole’s financial reporting systems

  • Completed, or working towards CPA, CA or equivalent designation
  • Experience in international accounting, including working with different currencies and time zones
  • Experience with, and detailed knowledge of accounting standards
  • Experience working for a public accounting firm (KPMG, Deloitte, PWC etc.)
  • Experience drafting and reviewing GAAP and IFRS financial statements
  • Minimum 2 years managerial experience or experience as a team leader
  • Experience working on financial compliance for the purpose of government grants is an asset
  • Experience in accounting for automotive manufacturing or a related industry preferred
  • Experience with Cognos or other consolidation software preferred
  • Strong computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office
