Corporate Manager, Talent – Canada (GHQ)

Reports To:Global Head of Human Resources and Environmental, Health & Safety

As our new Corporate Manager of Talent, you will need to possess three key attributes, which will contribute to your success in this role. First, you should possess significant experience developing and deploying world-class talent management and/or organizational development programs, with a proven track record of success. This success will have been achieved through your competence in thought-leadership and hands-on delivery.

You will also possess a thorough understanding of manufacturing operational realities, while being “excellence” minded in raising existing operational standards well above status quo – in other words, we’re looking for someone who is a true change agent, able to shift the landscape of our talent practice.

Finally, you should be the type of person who is equally capable of working independently, while recognizing when and how to effectively mobilize others in achieving practical deliverables, globally.

Practically speaking, you will:

  • Develop, champion and lead proactive talent attraction strategies and processes
  • Implement and/or maintain effective recruitment technology and related tools to optimize internal service delivery
  • Establish and promote excellence in recruitment strategy and process corporately and at local / international factories
  • Promote and communicate our employer branding in all activities, using all practical digital and social media technologies
  • Lead all talent calibration/succession planning, rotational assignments, and talent development programs/ initiatives to support the company’s mission and vision
  • Align the company’s training and development programs with the organizations needs/gaps to ensure fulfillment of company goals and talent needs
  • Lead the annual performance management activities to improve employee and manager skills
  • Consistently monitor and improve new hire experience through onboarding activities
  • Monitor activities and measures performance of talent initiatives
  • Perform related duties as required or assigned


  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience with 5 years of experience leading talent acquisition and talent management activities or related organizational development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline; Master’s degree would be an asset
  • Certified Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP), Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a global organization; preferably in the automotive industry
  • Experience in professional consulting to the manufacturing industry would be beneficial
  • Competence in leading an operational HR team; effective in dealing with ALL levels of employees from shop floor to the ‘C’ Suite across cultures
  • Successful experience implementing and improving recruitment and talent metrics
  • Proven experience developing and leading training and development activities
  • Successful experience leading development assignments, talent calibration, succession planning, and performance management processes and programs
  • Frequent local travel is required with occasional international travel as needed
